Apache Ignite's technology evangelist, Akmal Chaudhri, Ph.D, will preside over a 3.5-hour intensive workshop at the Amsterdam Java User Group on March 8 titled, "In-Memory Computing Essentials for Java Developers."
GridGain technology evangelist Akmal Chaudhri will be the featured speaker at the Amsterdam Java User Group on March 7. His talk will be titled, "Catch an intro to the Java-powered Apache Ignite - memory-centric distributed platform."
The organizers of the Amsterdam Kubernetes/Cloud-Native Meetup are trying something new!  GridGain's technical evangelist Akmal Chaudhri will give a talk followed by a hands-on workshop titled, "In-Memory Computing Essentials." The workshop will be based in Java.

Valentin Kulichenko, lead architect at GridGain Systems, will present at the February 21 gathering of the Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup. This event will run from 6-9 p.m. at 3350 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara, CA (Building 54).

It used to be that the only way to improve application performance was to add a cache. But caches like Redis don't understand SQL. They require you to modify your applications with non-SQL coding and data models, and copy and synch data across two different models. They don't support ACID transactions very well. And they have their limits when it comes to scalability.
