Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup

About

Valentin Kulichenko, lead architect at GridGain Systems, will present at the February 21 gathering of the Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup. This event will run from 6-9 p.m. at 3350 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara, CA (Building 54). This event is free but you must RSVP!

Val's talk is titled, "Building consistent and highly available distributed systems with Apache Ignite and GridGain."

Summary: It is well known that there is a tradeoff between data consistency and high availability. However, there are many applications that require very strong consistency guarantees, and making such applications highly available can be a significant challenge.

In this session, meetup attendees will be given an overview of Apache® Ignite™ (https://ignite.apache.org) and GridGain capabilities that allow the delivery of high availability, while not breaking data consistency. Specific guidelines will be presented on how to build such systems covering topics such as:

• In-memory backups
• Data persistence
• Data center replication
• Full and incremental snapshots.

At the end of this session, attendees will have better understanding of how Apache Ignite and GridGain work, and how to use different features of these products to build applications that are both consistent and highly available.
