GridGain Proud to Have Been Instrumental in Helping Nurture Original Technical Vision and Participate in Ignite's Community Growth
Foster City, California – August 25, 2015 – GridGain Systems, the leading innovator behind open source and commercial in-memory data fabric solutions that accelerate business operations and time to insights for the enterprise and in the cloud, today congratulated the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) for its graduation of Apache Ignite to a Top Level Project (TLP). (See press release dated August 25, 2015, “The Apache Software Foundation Announces Apache™ Ignite™ as a Top-Level Project” http://s.apache.org/V6H.) As the original Apache Ignite developer, contributing the code to the ASF less than a year ago, GridGain is proud to have participated in supporting the technical vision, driving community growth and ensuring good citizenship of the project within the family of Apache projects, all the way to its graduation, a very important milestone.
Since entering the Apache Incubator in October 2014, Apache Ignite has flourished, with code contributions (over 15,000 commits) from 38 committers and contributors.
"We are thrilled to see Apache Ignite moving to the next level and look forward to collaborating further with the Ignite community," said Dmitriy Setrakyan, Vice President of Apache Ignite and GridGain founder and Chief Product Officer. "We have highly skilled and experienced open source talent within this community, and together we'll continue to drive innovation and adoption for this cutting-edge Fast Data technology. We're encouraged by the growing momentum behind Apache Ignite since its inception as an incubating project last October, and expect it to escalate as more companies learn about us through the ASF and at events like the upcoming Big Data Innovation Summit in Boston, Strata Hadoop World in New York, and JavaOne in San Francisco."
"It's exciting that Apache Ignite is graduating to a top-level project," said Dr. Konstantin Boudnik, Apache Ignite Project Management Committee Mentor and WANdisco Vice President of Open Source Development. "We look forward to working further with the Apache Ignite community to make more enhancements that will benefit customers with real-time requirements and the need for highest performance and scale from their applications."
