First Ever, Industry-Wide In-Memory Computing Summit Announced for 2015

Inaugural Event for In-Memory Computing Experts, Visionaries, Decision Makers, and Developers to be held in San Francisco June 29-30

FOSTER CITY, Calif. March 31, 2015 – GridGain™ Systems (www.GridGain.com), GridGain Systems, the leading innovator behind open source and commercial in-memory data fabrics and producer of the first-ever, industry-wide In-Memory Computing Summit (IMC Summit), announced that the inaugural IMC Summit 2015 will be held June 29-30 at the W Hotel in San Francisco.

IMC Summit 2015, already supported by inaugural sponsors GridGain, MemSQL and SanDisk, is a multi-track conference aimed at uniting and educating In-Memory Computing experts, visionaries, decision makers, and developers. The conference provides insights into current implementations as well as the future of in-memory computing, includes technical deep dives as well as business-focused sessions, and offers community and networking opportunities for attendees and partners.

Forrester Research Principal Analyst Mike Gualtieri will present the opening keynote, entitled, "The Velocity of Business Requires In-Memory Computing." Industry luminaries, representing both open source and commercial organizations, will lead presentations and discussions, and John Webster, Forbes columnist and Evaluator Group Senior Partner, will present a closing session.

"There is a tremendous demand for an industry event like the IMC Summit," said John Webster of Evaluator Group. "It's surprising that such a conference hasn't already been running for a couple of years. I'm excited to be a part of the conversations and interactions at a gathering with the type of leading-edge IT audience this will inevitably attract."

"We are proud to help produce, support and sponsor this first-ever, industry-wide event created to unite and foster exchanges between in-memory experts, decision makers and visionaries," said Abe Kleinfeld, President and CEO at GridGain. "In the next few years, in-memory technologies will change computing as we know it in dramatic ways, and this event will provide a great forum to help communicate their potential, driving wide-spread adoption and demonstrating the power of Fast Data held in memory that will enable a new class of use cases and the future of the real-time enterprise."

"With server memory capacities increasing and memory prices decreasing for both premises and cloud deployments, the time is right for in-memory computing to reach a wide audience," said Eric Frenkiel, CEO and co-founder, MemSQL. He continued, "Every day enterprises see the power of in-memory solutions firsthand and the capabilities they deliver for new applications, revenue streams, and dramatic cost savings. We look forward to sharing these customer insights at the inaugural In-Memory Computing Summit."

"In-memory computing is one of the fastest growing applications being used in data centers today," said Ravi Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager, Systems and Software Solutions, SanDisk. "We are pleased to participate in this inaugural event that will help foster an in-depth, open dialog with the leading players in this market and help identify new opportunities for how in-memory computing can solve today's Big Data challenges."

Gartner notes that "The IMC business impact for user organizations has already proved notable, spanning from incrementally improving performance and scalability of established applications to enabling business transformation," and that "Considering the current and future demand for IMC, we believe that revenue in this market will exceed $9.5 billion by year-end 2018."
