Entrepreneur David Lichtblau Joins GridGain Systems’ Board of Directors

Foster City, CA -- Wednesday, June 20, 2012 -- GridGain Systems, the leading developer of scalable, distributed, in-memory compute and data grid technologies for real-time data processing, today announced the addition of an independent director, David Lichtblau, to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Lichtblau has helped bring multiple venture-backed start-ups from infancy to successful exit. He co-founded Stanford Technology Group, a pioneer in on-line analytical processing for data warehouses, which was acquired by Informix Software (now part of IBM). He went on to help build StarMine, a provider of analytics for institutional investors and investment banks, which was acquired by Thomson Reuters. Most recently, he served as the global head of products for the Thomson Reuters product line for portfolio managers and analysts.

“GridGain is at the forefront of innovation in a space that Gartner recently named one of the top 10 most disruptive technologies of 2012 and beyond,” said Mr. Lichtblau. “I am excited to join the company at this stage and help it build on its success. GridGain has an enviable, top-tier client list, and I believe the demand for real-time analytics on ‘Big Data’ will only grow from here.”

“Given GridGain’s momentum and projected growth, the time was right to enhance our Board with additional talent and industry expertise,” said GridGain’s founder and CEO, Nikita Ivanov. “The insight that David brings in both enterprise software and big data analytics is significant. We are fortunate to have him on our team and look forward to his contributions.”
