Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup 8-20-2019GridGain's August 20, 2019 Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup

We had a great Bay Area In-Memory Computing Meetup in Menlo Park on August 20, 2019. The event featured two excellent talks from in-memory computing experts and leaders:

  • Ignite Pearls - Insight and Creativity in Distributed Programming
Nikita Ivanov, Founder & CTO, GridGain Systems
Nikita's talk discussed how to do a modern distributed programming with Apache® Ignite™ and included several case studies, real-world examples, and interesting exercises

  • Oracle Database In-Memory by Example
Andy Rivenes [@TheInMemoryGuy], Product Manager at Oracle for Database In-Memory
Oracle Database 12c is a new in-memory column store and is compatible with all existing applications. But how does it work and what steps are required to get started? Andy's talk included step-by-step examples to demonstrate how Oracle's in-memory dual-format enables both super-fast analytics and online transaction processing. It also showed how Database In-Memory integrates with Oracle Database's existing features.

If you were unable to attend, you can watch the two in-memory computing talks in the video below!

GridGain meetups provide the in-memory computing community with a venue to discuss in-memory computing issues, solutions, and examples. These meetups feature talks from in-memory computing experts. You can find upcoming meetup events here.
