Meet us at:
HISTORY
Despite the fact that distributed processing concept has been around for decades, grid computing in its current
form is still used only by a small number of businesses. GridGain Systems started in Pleasanton, CA in 2005
by the group of people that realized that traditional grid computing solutions are still largely inadequate for
the majority of businesses due to their complexity, high cost, and lack of simple integration with and
applicability for mainstream enterprise technologies like JEE.
We envisioned the Enterprise Java Grid Computing software that will combine intuitive integration and
seamless application of the technology with state of the art grid computing features providing JEE grid
enabling solution that is easy to acquire and easy to implement.

VISION
We have simple vision here at GridGain Systems: we want to make a product that will make grid computing
an everyday tool of enterprise application developer.
Looking back at history we see that technologies like transaction monitors and distributed caching
were out of reach for many businesses a little more than a decade ago. Yet today due to advances in
technology and product development coupled with overall cost reduction of computing resources these
technologies are used on the daily basis by almost any enterprise project.
We believe that grid computing technology is reaching the point where it will make a transition from
one-off and expensive solution to ubiquitous technology available for the project of any size and complexity.
We also believe that there is a great unmet demand for grid computing technology. Majority of the
businesses today have a need for better utilization of their resources and/or faster performance
without additional capital expenditure and grid computing software solution provides the most direct
answer to these needs. Yet despite that demand most of the current offerings are either unnecessarily
complex, too costly or lack the enterprise focus and features.
With GridGain we want to make grid computing simple to use and powerful with features,
affordable for the project of any size and squarely focused on enterprise application development.
